The Kingdom of God reimagined
About The Book
The Kingdom of God Reimagined
Experiencing and Nurturing the God inside Us
As a unique and intelligent survey of religious thought, this one-of-a-kind book about faith by Carol Fleetwood strives to engage the reader in critical religious thinking (the other CRT) as opposed to herd-mentality religious conformity. The book also reveals how one can attain personal non-religiously-aligned spiritual empowerment.
The book is divided into five sections. The first is a fascinating history of mankind’s evolving concept of God from the Levant’s Neolithic Era to present day Christianity in America, exploring humanity’s attempt to make sense of the divine and our existence. The second section is a fresh look at Christ’s message with an alternate interpretation of select New Testament verses. The third section is a brief look at the history of the Christian church and its repackaged message. The fourth section reveals a historical allegory about a fictional Rabboni Yehoshua ben Yosef, his rise to fame as a spiritual leader in Jerusalem, his clash with the Jewish religious hierarchy and the Roman power structure, culminating in his final defeat. The fifth section demonstrates how one can obtain spirituality without religion.
